Branstead Farm Stone Foundation

stone foundation at the Branstead Farm in the Petawawa Research Forest

Throughout the winter there has been harvesting (thinning) of the Branstead Farm and adjacent red pine plantations. (See Loggers Lunch Spot, Red Pine Logs, Logs, and Snowshoeing Through The Slash.)

Piles of red pine logs lie along Branstead Road. This photo was taken from atop the pile adjacent to the Branstead Farm stone foundation. Regrettably, a poplar log and its roots (lying horizontally across the bottom of the photo) ended up on top of the front wall of the foundation and caused some minor damage to the front corner of the foundation.

For more about the stone foundation and the Branstead Farm see: Exploring Branstead Farm in the Petawawa Research Forest.
