Open Mic at Long Shots

This week's Open Mic at Long Shots Sports Cafe in Deep River once again proved Mike's Maxim. The last few Open Mics that I attended -- I missed the last two -- were crowded, loud, and chaotic; this one was somewhat less crowded with fewer participants and, in my elderly, curmudgeonly opinion, at a more reasonable volume level. But by the end of the night, it was really cooking -- an excellent jam. A key ingredient was the presence of Stereo Typical. They are a tight, polished band on their own and then when you add in a few more excellent musicians, everything will just "come together". (They did that one as I recall.)

Another notable aspect of the evening was that Mike broke open one of his display cases and liberated the "snake bass" for the evening.
